This activity is part of the UNS MBKM Grant Team’s efforts in Klakah Village to improve community preparedness for potential volcanic disasters caused by Mount Merapi’s activity. The outreach was attended by the Village Alert Team (TSD) and village officials.
On this occasion, Mr. Eko, as a resource person, explained Mount Merapi’s eruption, the potential hazards it can cause, and mitigation measures the community can take. He also compared the conditions at Merapi five years ago with the current situation. From 2020 until now, Mount Merapi has remained on alert status.

The Head of Klakah Village, Marwoto, welcomed this activity. He stated that the Klakah Village community needs to understand the disaster risks of Mount Merapi, given its location on the slopes of the mountain. “We hope that this activity will help improve preparedness and minimize the impact of Mount Merapi disasters,” said Marwoto.
The Head of the UNS MBKM Grant Team for Klakah Village, Fachreza Arya Wanindra, stated that collaboration with the Boyolali Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) on this activity is crucial to ensuring the village community has a comprehensive understanding of Mount Merapi disaster mitigation. “We hope this outreach will have a positive impact on the preparedness of Klakah Village residents in facing future Mount Merapi disasters,” said Fachreza.
