Boyolali, June 26, 2025 – Dukuh Village, Boyolali Regency, was the location for a community service activity in the form of training on creating edutourism-based tour packages. This activity was attended by village officials, the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis), and various elements of the community who care about the development of local tourism.

The event opened with a speech by the Head of Dukuh Village, Mr. Sartono, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between the village government, the community, and Pokdarwis in creating sustainable educational tourist attractions. The speech marked the beginning of a series of activities, which was then followed by a main session on the process of creating edutourism attractions and packages by Mr. Seno Budhi Ajar, a lecturer at the UNS Geography Education Study Program. In this session, participants gained an understanding of the steps involved in designing attractions, determining themes, and compiling tourism packages that are in line with the village’s potential.

The next series of activities consisted of a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) that brought together participants from various elements of the community. Through group discussions, they jointly designed edutourism attraction concepts that could be developed in Dukuh Village, ranging from agricultural activities, local culture, to the village’s environmental potential.

This community service activity did not stop at the planning stage. The next day, the 2022 Geography Student implementation team, together with the community, directly implemented the results of the FGD by inviting elementary school students from SD Negeri 1 Dukuh to participate in the designed tour package. The students were invited to experience learning while traveling, such as agrotourism practices involving seedling cultivation and fertilization, edutourism by making tote bags from natural materials, introducing village culture such as the Lesung, and other creative activities.

Through this activity, Dukuh Village is expected to develop edutourism as one of its main attractions, which will not only boost the local economy but also strengthen cultural identity and educational values for the younger generation.
